What are Orphan Units?

Org Unit Hierarchy changes often result in the creation of Orphan Org Units, which need to be updated by the System Administrator.

An Org Unit or cost center that no longer appears in the org hierarchy is deleted from Serraview when the next Org Unit Import is completed. 

How to delete or move them to Unknown

Summary:

• These Org Units currently are tied to an Orphan Org Unit; to resolve this, you will need to set their parent to either Unknown or change it to the correct parent Org Unit in the Orphan Org Unit Module.

People:

• These people rows currently are assigned to Orphan Org Units; they will need to be unassigned for the Orphan Org Unit to be deleted; you can do this via the Person Directory Module.

Spaces:

• These spaces are currently assigned to Orphan Org Units; you can remove these or change to the correct Org Unit via the Spaces Editor module or VBS.

Teams:

• These teams are currently assigned to Orphan Org Units; you can remove these or change to the correct Org Unit via the VBS.

Scenario Projects:

• These are the Scenario Project moves that are tied to the Orphan Org Unit; if these Scenario Projects have been archived, please contact Serraview Support for us to remove this in the backend.

Services Requests:

• You will need to contact Serraview Support to remove closed/cancelled Service Cases assigned to Orphan Org Units.

Access Profiles:

• You will need to unassign the people in Access Profiles with Orphan Org Units in Workplace Admins on the second tab, Access Profiles.
