Set up Book Safe and Distance

When your employees reserve a desk, Book Safe is a setting that can be used to ensure social distancing is in place. Once Book Safe settings are in place and after the desk is reserved, other desks within a given range will be disabled so that other employees cannot reserve them.

Book Safe can be set globally for all your buildings or each individual one.

Safe Distance Measurements

The following is the measurements converted into centimeters:

6 foot = 182 cm

2 meters = 200 cm

1.5 meters = 150 cm

Global Settings


Set up Book Safe in Engage Configuration

The default setting for all your buildings is global; you only need to complete the Engage Configuration.

Complete the following:

  1. Navigate to Admin Settings > System Config > General > Engage Configuration.
  2. Click the Bookings Setup tab.
  3. Check the Book Safe check box.
  4. In the Book Safe Distance field, enter the number in centimeters.
  5. Click the Update button.

Building Settings


Set up Book Safe Distance for a Building

You can set this up if you have different Book Safe requirements for your different buildings.

Complete the following:

  1. Navigate to Resources > Buildings & Floors.
  2. Click on the building. The building details displays.
  3. Click the Edit button. The Update Building dialog displays.
  4. From the Book Safe drop-down, select On.
  5. In the Book Safe Distance field, enter the number in centimeters.
  6. Click the Update Building button.
