Restrict Building Access
You can restrict the building's access to individual users, roles, or both. Then these users (or the users with the role) can see the building in the Spaces module or Block & Stack (VBS) module.
Important note that this also restricts the buildings users can select in the Reporting module. If a report is run against the entire portfolio or region, all data from the portfolio or region will be included in the report results, including the restricted buildings.
We recommend the following:
- Be aware of which users have access to reports that contain sensitive building data.
- If you want to make sure the restrictions are in place, then you can remove the Reports-Access from those roles.
- Add reports to the Spaces module and the Block & Stack (VBS) module's Quick Reports, so the users can only run the report for buildings they can navigate to.
- Navigate to Resources > Building & Floors.
- From the list, click the building you want to restrict and the building details displays.
- Click the Restricted Access List
icon.
- If the access is toggle OFF, then click the Restrict building access toggle to ON.
Access can be granted at the user level, role level, or both.
