Within the data import settings, there is a range of options related to the default behavior of imports within Serraview.
Warning
You must be aware of the maximum allowed percentage of changes to the Serraview data permitted by an import.
For example, you can restrict the import to change only up to 5% of the overall data in Serraview. When an import exceeds this maximum, it will fail, and you will receive an error message. This is to protect your existing from a faulty import. You will need to troubleshoot your import and if you have any questions then contact the Serraview Support team.
The following settings will cause the error when importing:
- Default maximum allowed percentage of changes.
- OrgUnit Import – max allowed percentage of changes.
- Person Import - Percentage of persons archived limit.
You can access the Data Imports settings via:
- Navigate to Admin Settings > System Config > General > Data Imports.
The table below provides a description of each field.
Field Name |
Description |
---|---|
Automated Import Notification Emails field |
System Administrator For more information, refer to Configure Automated Notifications. |
Change Request Bulk Update Threshold |
Serraview Only Configuration A default system value. This must not be altered by Clients. |
Default maximum allowed percentage of changes |
Serraview Only Configuration Percentage of change to Serraview data permitted by an import. For example, you can restrict the import to change only up to 5% of the overall data in your system. When an import exceeds this maximum, it fails, and an error message display. This is a precautionary measure to ensure any damage caused by a faulty import is minimized. The import check is performed before the import processing takes place. |
DWG Template Schema |
System Administrator The schema used when importing floorplans using Floorplan Importer. |
Floorplan Import - Default Units |
Serraview Only Configuration Sets the default floorplan measurement units. Accepts inches, millimeters, and from file (the insert units seen in the DWG). |
Import sliding window period (in days) |
Serraview Only Configuration Following each import, a record is stored (with the CSV or Excel file and any comments) in Configuration > Recent Imports. The Import Results are retained for a default of 30 days. The time the import results are retained is set in the Import Sliding Window Period setting. |
Number of days until Candidates are archived |
System Administrator For more information, refer to Configure Number of Days before a Candidate is Archived. |
OrgUnit Import Schema |
Serraview Only Configuration A default system value. This must not be altered by Clients. |
OrgUnit Import – max allowed percentage of changes |
Serraview Only Configuration Similar to "Default maximum allowed percentage of changes". The difference with this field is it only deals with OrgUnit Imports. Therefore, "Default maximum allowed percentage of changes" may be set to 5%, but "OrgUnit Import – max allowed percentage of changes" may be set to a lower rate of 3%. |
Override Import – max allowed percentage of changes |
Serraview Only Configuration This override sets any exceptions you require from the setting at Default maximum allowed percentage of changes (e.g. set the changes for a Workpoint Import to 30%). |
Person Import – Archive Candidates immediately |
Serraview Only Configuration When selected:
|
Person Import – Can Unarchive |
Serraview Only Configuration This option determines what to do if a "new" EmployeeNo is included in the Person Import that matches a previously used one. Does your organization recycle their EmployeeNo's? Or does every individual receive a unique, new EmployeeNo? If an employee is rehired, do they receive their original EmployeeNo or are they allocated a new one? When selected, the Person Import will unarchive a previously archived person – restoring all their former personal data. When cleared, any person included in the Person Import who may have an archived Serraview record will be set up as a completely new person. This setting does not restore an employee's space data including previous location or assets allocations. |
Person Import - Clear Org Unit when source values blank |
Serraview Only Configuration This relates to what the Person Import does when it includes a person without their cost center (the import's cost center column is blank for this person). When selected, this person will be stripped of any cost center they had. When cleared, the person's cost center will remain unchanged. |
Person Import - Configuration |
Serraview Only Configuration This relates to the sequence of matching to existing records you require the import to perform during the Person Import. For example, if this box is set to "EmployeeNo, Email", then for each row (or person), the Person Import will:
|
Person Import - Create SSO Users for this Domain |
Serraview Only Configuration This field is not required. Single Sign On automatically generates users when they are set up. |
Person Import - Percentage of persons archived limit |
Serraview Only Configuration This setting limits the percentage of staff that may be archived, either by Archive Immediately or when archive candidates are archived during the Serraview nightly scheduled task. This is a precautionary measure to ensure any damage caused by a faulty import is minimized. |
Enable Floorplan Import Result |
System Administrator When selected this field enables floorplan import results to be generated in Zendesk. |
Floorplan Import - Translation Expression |
Serraview Only Configuration Dictates the file naming convention for uploading multiple files with either the bulk upload tool or File Upload (automated floorplans option). |
Import Badge Data as Utilization Data |
Serraview Only Configuration If this is checked then the Badge Data will be uploaded as Utilization Data. |
Import Mapping field |
Serraview Only Configuration Used by Serraview to map fields found in the CSV file. |
