Watch the Video
Watch the video below to see how to use Workplace, which is a simple tool used by Business Representatives to validate team occupancy. This helps Corporate Real Estate manage space allocations across the portfolio. A Business Representative that uses Workplace is known as a “Workplace Administrator” and in the video, you will see how a Workplace Administrator validates Fixed teams, where each team member is assigned their own workpoint.
The video below was recorded with Serraview V2, however, in Serraview V3 the tool is the same.
However, it is important to note the following:
- The Workplace Portal is accessed via the left-menu, click Audits > Workplace Portal.

Best Practice
Use the following procedures below to update the occupancy of your Fixed Team(s).
Is the person a member of your team?
Check if the team has correct team members, if the team members are no up-to-date you can add or remove people, refer to Manage people in a Fixed Team.
Add a person to a workpoint via the Workpoint Tab
You can add a person to your fixed team to a workpoint using the Workpoint tab. Refer to Add a person to a workpoint via the Workpoint tab.
Note that you can people from the People tab too, refer to Add a person to a workpoint via the People tab.
Do you need to add a retention status?
Check if the workpoint needs a retention status added to it.
Add retention status to a fixed team's workpoint
Retention Statuses are used to communicate with the Corporate Real Estate team when you are unable to place an individual's name against a desk. For example, you may have some workpoints being used by contractors and as their names are not in the Serraview People List, you still want to retain the desks within your team's allocation. Also, Retention Statuses can only be added for workpoints allocated to Fixed teams. They cannot be added to Flexi teams or unallocated workpoints.
Refer to Add a retention status to a fixed team's workpoint.
Manage the people in a Fixed Team
If the team members are not up-to-date you can add or remove people, refer to Manage people in a Fixed Team.
