What does a healthy Serraview environment look like?

  • Employee and Organization Data - Complete, current, and usable
  • Floor Plans - Reflect the real workplace
  • Occupancy Data - Flowing and understood
  • Reporting - Trusted, repeatable, and automated

Healthy data layers create confidence in planning, reporting and workplace decisions.

Health Check #1: Employee data health

People Data

  • Feed not running or updating
  • Missing or duplicated employees
  • Blank or missing data fields
  • Missing optional fields data
  • Inactive employees still appearing
  • Required fields not populated

Organization Data

  • Blank or duplicated organizational units
  • Old organizational hierarchy, not matching the current people data
  • Manual organizational hierarchy changes
  • Orphan organizational units

If the people data is incomplete, downstream planning and reporting will not be reliable.

Health Check #2: Floor Plans

Floor Plans

  • Floor plans not updated after workplace changes
  • Missing spaces
  • Incorrect space types
  • Outdated allocations
  • Desks or areas no longer reflect reality
  • Floor plans not recently reviewed

If the floor plan does not reflect the real workplace, planning and utilization insights become harder to trust.

Best Practice - Floor Plans

  • Review Floor Plans - After moves, refurbishments, space type changes, and major allocation updates.

  • New Floor Plans

    • ❌ We don't recommend that you have two floor plans for the same physical floor in parallel and then later delete the original when the new floor plan goes live. If you create a second floor plan for the same physical floor, you will experience continuity issues in Reporting, Bookings, and SVLive.

    • ✔️ Instead, update the existing floor with the new floor plan when the new floor plan is ready to go live. The benefits of updating an existing floor plan with the new floor plan are:

      • No data migration is required.

      • Historical reporting and utilization data remain intact.

      • Existing bookings and space references are preserved.

      • Continuity is maintained across Reporting, Bookings, and SVLive.

Health Check #3: Occupancy data

SVLive Data

  • Unexpected gaps in some locations (Report #365)
  • Sudden drops or spikes
  • Some people consistently not captured
  • New devices not recorded

Badge Data

  • Automate data imports
  • Blank rows not matching people
  • Buildings with no activity (Report #226)
  • Unexplained attendance changes
  • Reporting period alignment

If your source data is incorrect, chase it down with the respective teams. Have them see the value of Serraview, and ensure their data is clean.

Best Practice - Occupancy data

  • Automate existing manual practices – Don’t rely on a single person to be your data point of failure
  • Analyze and understand gaps in data
  • Drive best practice across your organization to ensure clean and reliable utilization data from security and IT teams
  • Use different utilization data for the right analysis:
  • SVLive Wired – Desk Usage
  • SVLive Wi-Fi – Floor Attendance
  • Badge – Building/Floor attendance
