Update floor plan image only for a floor

For an existing floor you can update the floor plan image.

Prerequisites

Before you proceed to use the Floor Plan Importer Tool to update an existing floor, make sure you have the following:

  • Building exists in Serraview.
  • Floor exists in Serraview.
  • Floor has an existing floorplan and mapped spaces.
  • AutoCAD file must match the area, size and scale of the current floor plan. The current AutoCAD file can be downloaded.

If the area, size or scale does not match, the existing mapping will not match the new floor plan image. Refer to the example below.

Purpose

Follow the steps in this section to:

  • update the floor plan image.
  • keep all existing mapped spaces.
  • keep VBS team or occupancy allocations for existing spaces.

If there are changes to the floor plan and mapped spaces are not updated, you will need to follow Update Existing Floor – Update and remove existing spaces or update mapping manually.

Floor Plan Importer Tool Required Fields

Complete the following:

  1. Navigate to Admin Settings > Data Imports > Floorplan Imports. The Floor Plan Importer Tool displays.
  2. From the Select building drop-down, select the building.
  3. From the Select floor drop-down, select the floor.
  4. Click the Choose File button to upload the AutoCAD file.
  5. Check the Plot Only check box.

No other options are required.

5. Click the RUN! button.

6. Review the Import Results and Warnings, refer to Floor Plan Importer Tool Import Results.

7. Review the floor in the Spaces module.
