facility index

The facility index -- also known as the Facility Condition Index or FCI -- is an index number that indicates the current condition or environmental sustainability of an asset measured to its "as new" condition. The applications ships with a default formula, but you can enter a different formula, if needed, using the FacilityConditionIndex application parameter.

The default formula is:
( 1000 * Estimated Costs (Total) / Replacement Cost )

Using the exact fields, this formula is:

(1000 * ( cost_estimated + cost_est_cap) / cost_to_replace )

Use this index as a benchmark to objectively assess the current condition and environmental sustainability of assets in your facility.

The index numbers typically are defined as follows:

  • 0 to 50 -- Good
  • 50 to 100 -- Fair
  • 100 to 300 -- Poor
  • Greater than 300 -- Critical
