Synchronizing Your Data: Overview

The Synchronization group on the Ribbon toolbar includes the following commands that enable you to keep your asset symbols and database records synchronized and accurate.

• Publish Enterprise Graphics : You can publish your drawings to enterprise graphics (for use in Web Central, Archibus mobile apps, and GIS) so that any updates you make to drawings are available to all users in your enterprise.
• Catalog Layer: This command catalogs all asset symbols located on the asset layer you set, and the asset layer's corresponding asset text and prototype layers are also cataloged.
• Reconcile : Use this command to reconcile widowed assets and records, that is, assets that have no associated records, and records that have no associated asset.
• List Asset Properties: Displays the entity data and extended entity for an asset
• Remove Asset Properties : Use this command to uncatalog the asset symbol and then removes all extended entity data from the drawing entity.
• Layout Scenarios: Adds the Layouts tab to the Explorer pane.

Also pertaining to synching is this preference, set from Smart Client:

• Update CAD on Grid Changes. This setting controls whether changes made in the Smart Client grid are automatically updated in the BIM model or CAD drawing, if currently open.
