BIM Viewer Usage Notes

Forge terminology . "Forge" is now known as "Autodesk Platform Services" or "APS." Most of the Archibus documentation still uses the "Forge" terminology. For information on Autodesk Platform Services, see https://aps.autodesk.com/ . (DOC-3504)

Same model is loaded twice, if it is present twice . The following unlikely situation should be avoided. We found that this occured in our test environment; however, it is unlikely that this issue will appear in production because there should not be two identical models (with different names) in Autodesk Construction Cloud project and / or Forge bucket at the same time. (AD-13544)

  1. You have an Archibus building cataloged to a model - ex. NB-2021.rvt.

  2. Rename this model (file name and drawing name changed - ex. to NB-RCW-2023.rvt) and then upload it to the Autodesk Construction Cloud project that is connected to the BIM Viewer.

  3. If you try to load the cataloged model from the Buildings drop-down and then immediately load the second model from the Autodesk Docs Projects list, you may encounter that the model is loaded twice, the two instances on top of each other.
