subregion

An area of the US power grid defined by the Environmental Protection Agency's eGRID. An eGRID subregion represents a portion of the US power grid that is contained within a single North America Electric Reliability Council (NERC) region, and generally represents sections of the power grid which have similar emissions and resource mix characteristics, and may be partially isolated by transmission constraints.
