System / Add-in Manager / View Definition Wizard
Re-Creating Windows Views and 1.0 Views in 2.0 Format
You can use the View Definition Wizard to re-create the following views in 2.0 format :
- an .Avw (BasicScript) view
- an .Axvw (XML) view in the older 1.0 format (pre-v16.3 format)
- an .Axvw (XML) view in the newer 1.0 format (v16.3 format)
With the below procedure, the View Definition Wizard will use the original view's information to create the view in 2.0 format.
Note: For information on converting -- rather than re-creating -- 1.0 views, see Converting 1.0 Views to 2.0 Format .
Follow this basic process:
-
Copy the view file that you wish to re-create to the
\per-site\files-to-convert
folder, such as:
C:\Program Files\Afmxx\tools\tomcat\webapps\archibus\schema\per-site\files-to-convert
- Select System / Add-In Manager / Run View Definition Wizard
- Choose the Load button. The system lists all views in the \per-site\files-to-convert folder.
- In the list box, click on the view that you want to alter.
- If it is an .Axvw view and you want to first to display it in its current format, choose Display Selected View.
- If you are converting an .Avw file view, you cannot first display it.
- Choose "Load View and Continue to Select Type" and the wizard loads the selected view into the View Definition Wizard so that you can convert it.
- The Wizard displays the Select Type screen.
- If you are converting an .Avw view, choose the format.
-
If it is an .Axvw view, you can do the following.
- If you want to retain the view's existing format, choose the current format.
- If you want to change an existing view to a new format with the same tables, such as changing an edit form view to a report view, select the new format.
- Based on the tables that already exist in the view and the type of view specified above, the wizard presents the appropriate formats.
Choose "Continue to Select Format."
- Choose the current format or a new format and then choose Continue to set the tables to display.
- The wizard presents the tables that the view currently presents. You can change these tables if you wish.
- If you want to retain the view's current tables, choose Next to move to the next screen.
- If you want to change a table, choose the "Choose a Different Table" option.
- For each table in the view, the wizard shows your existing settings for field visibility, sort order, standard, restrictions, and options. Change these options as necessary. For information on these options , see Defining New Views .
- Preview, save the view, and add it to the Navigator as described in Defining New Views .
- When saving the view, you can provide the existing file name, or specify a new file name.
- If the .Avxw view was already associated with a task on the Navigator, you can assign the converted view to the same location as the original view, or specify a new location.
