Emailing Links to Reports and Forms
Most forms and reports include an Email button, in the shape of an envelope, that you can use to email a URL link to the report or form that you currently have loaded.
When you click this button, the program prompts for a recipient and a cc list, and then uses the email program installed locally on your workstation to create an email message. This is a convenient way to forward report results or to request specific information to be entered.
You must have an email program loaded on your workstation to use this feature, and it must be able to accept email created by your Web browser.
If you are entering in multiple addresses to copy, separate the addresses
with a semi-colon. For example:
staffer1@mycorp.com;staffer2@mycorp.com
.
The URL link will appear in the email contents as a clickable link (for example,
http://harp:8080/archibus/ab-opxls-edit.axv
. When the recipient clicks on the link,
the program will ask them to sign in to Archibus Web Central if they are not
already signed in. The program will then load the report or form.
Be aware that the system does not present data or forms that the recipient does not have the security authorization to see. For instance, if you are permitted to review account code information, but the recipient of your email is not, when the recipient signs in, the account code column will be filtered out.
