Entering Funding Sources

Before you can allocate funding to approved projects, you enter your funding sources, such as Capital Fund A or Capital Fund B. On the Enter Funding Sources pages you can create new funding sources. You can also review and edit current funding sources.

During the Evaluate process, you can also create funding sources that you associate with funding scenarios.

To add or edit funding sources:

  1. From the Capital Budgeting application, for either the Evaluate or Allocate process, select the Enter Funding Sources task.
    The Enter Funding Sources page appears. All existing funding sources appear in the Funding Source list.
  2. To add a new funding source:
    1. Click Add New in the Funding Sources panel.
    2. Enter the following required field:

      Funding Source: A unique name for the funding source.

      Funding Type: By default, the funding type is set to Capital, but you are able to change it to Expense if needed.

      Source Type: By default, this is set to N/A, but select a specific type of funding source from the list if this information is available.

    3. Enter the following information as needed:

      Program Name: To associate the fund with a capital program, select the program from the Program Name list.

      Date Available: Enter the date the funding is available.

      Date Available - End: Enter the date to limit the funding to end at a specified time frame

      Fund Total: The total amount in this fund.

    4. Click Save.
  3. To edit a funding source:
    1. Click on an existing funding source in the Funding Source list.
    2. Review and edit the funding source.
    3. Click Save.
