Typical Workflow

You can take an incremental approach to managing your maintenance work with the Maintenance module. For example, you can:

• start off managing maintenance work as it arises (on demand) and then later integrate a preventive maintenance system.
• integrate a parts inventory management system once your maintenance system is up and running.
• integrate the Maintenance mobile app from the beginning, or add it in at a convenient point.
• start with a simple workflow and then add in more advanced routing for specific situations.

If you have started managing reactive maintenance work with Archibus Foundations, you can build on the data that you have already established.

Below is a general approach to take. Each step or bullet corresponds with a process of the Maintenance module. See the "Workflow Overview" topics listed at the top of this topic for more detailed overviews.

1. Develop the validating background data
   • Facilities-Related
   • Maintenance-Related
   • Labor-Related
2. Define maintenance workflow.
3. Define preventive maintenance procedures .
4. Optional: Create and maintain a parts inventory .
5. Staff report maintenance problems (Corrective Maintenance process)
6. Manage reactive and preventive maintenance work.(Corrective Maintenance process)
7. Analyze maintenance reports.
