Stack Chart Tab
As you allocate space in a building, you can click on the Stack Chart tab to visualize your work.
From the Stack Gap tab, you can:
- View changes in allocation for different dates by clicking a date in the Events by Date pane, to show only allocations for that date. By default, the stack chart opens to the earliest date in the Events by Date list.
- Use the Filter at the top of the chart to view the allocations for specific locations.
- Move allocation events to different floors using the chart.
- Add unavailable area for all or part of a floor. For example, if an area will be renovated, you would want to mark it as unavailable for the renovation time frame. See Adding Unavailable Space.
- Add an allocation event . See Adding Allocation Events.
- Edit allocation events by expanding the dates int he Events by Date list to show the events. Click on an event to access the Edit Allocation Event form. You can change the start and end dates, allocated area, or division /department for the allocation.
By Default, the Stack Chart includes unoccupied areas.
The below image shows the Stack Chart tab with the instruction to select a group (allocation event) to change its floor allocation.
Moving a group allocation event
Moving a group allocation using the chart action enables you to quickly rearrange your group area allocations and to visualize the results. To facilitate testing different layouts, you can move a group to any floor, even if the floor currently does not have enough space for the group. Then, if needed, from the Allocation Events tab, you can view alerts for over-allocated space.
To move a group space allocation from one floor to another:
-
In the chart, click the group allocation you want to move to another floor.
The message at the top of the chart now says to click the floor to which you want to move the allocation event.
-
In the chart, click the bar for the available space you want to move the group to.
The Confirm Group Allocation Change form appears.
-
If needed, enter the Date of the Move and a description. By default, the Date of Move is set to the current date.
Note: If you set the Date of Move to be equal to the Start Date of the current allocation, the entire allocation will be moved to the new building and floor.
Note : If you enter a Date of Move that is outside the date range for the current allocation, you will get an error message. If this occurs, you can execute the move by editing the event in the Allocation Events tab. To do so, expand the dates to show the event, click on it and the Edit Allocation Event form appears.
-
Click Confirm.
The chart refreshes to reflect the new layout. The workflow creates a new allocation record for the group on the new building and floor, and sets the start date to the Date of Move. At the same time, it takes the old group allocation and sets an end date of 1 day prior to the Date of Move.
