Using a Later Revision as a Patch Release
Using a Later Revision as a Patch Release
The Package and Deploy Wizard provides an automated, repeatable way of replacing the core of an Archibus deployment with an updated core from a later release.
The Package and Deploy Wizard also has options for adding in new Archibus domains (for example, Sustainability & Risk) while preserving your existing domains unchanged (for example, Space). These features are useful for adding new applications even if you have changed some of the stock Archibus files in other domain areas.
The Package and Deploy Wizard presumes you have not altered core or common files (that is, the system files of Archibus or the common application files), ad that you followed the standard extension techniques.
The Package and Deploy Wizard also gives you a repeatable way of deploying your own personalized extensions to Archibus in a consistent way that you can use repeatedly - change after change, revision after revision.
Even if you don't use the Package and Deploy Wizard, you should have a repeatable way of applying the changes you have made to Archibus. If you have no idea what files you have changed or where they are, it is not possible for anyone to give you a reliable procedure for updating your deployment.
