Commitment Progress Status Report
The Commitment Progress Status report provides the FCPM a quick snapshot of a project's status by summarizing work done and work remaining. The FCPM can ensure that the Capital Flow is in line with Capital Planning’s budget, schedule and scope, and with the general contractor’s remaining commitment. The forms highlight over-invoiced and duplicately-invoiced projects, as well as present comparisons of the cost projection, the actual to-date spend, and the variance.
The report enables you to quickly highlight which work packages are progressing as desired, and which are at a standstill and have the potential of holding back the project.
Tips for working in this report:

Export data.
Use the Export icon
found on the report's tabs to export the data to a DOCX or XLS format.
- Orange highlights. If the % Invoiced is greater than 110% of the Revised Contract Cost (that is, the Contract Amount plus Approved change orders), it is shown in orange.
Which projects are included by role
The projects that are included in the report depend on whether you are the Project Manager or Project Sponsor (Approving Manager 1).
Accessing and filtering the report
To access the Commitment Progress Status Report:

Select
Capital Projects / Projects / Facility Construction Project Manager / View Commitment Progress Status
(CPS).
The My Projects list shows the projects for which you are responsible.
- Use the Filter to restrict the list to show only projects having a specific Status. To do so, select a status, such as Issued and in Process, from the Status list and click Show.

To show more filter criteria, click More.
The Filter expands to show additional restriction criteria, such as locations, specific projects or programs, or project contacts.

Select additional criteria as needed, and click Show.
The My Projects list refreshes to show the projects meeting the criteria you enter.
You are able to see projects for which you are the Project Manager or the Approving Mgr 1.
Select Projects tab
From the My Projects tab, the following data is available. When working in the application, you can click the question mark icon
to see a description of each of these fields.

Review key metrics for each project
. You can use this information to decide whether or not to approve an invoice.
- Cost Budgeted. Project Cost - Budgeted.
- Revised Contract Total : Sum of the Contracted Costs plus approved Change Orders.
- Invoice Total: Project Invoice Total.
- % Invoiced : Percent of the Revised Contract Total which has been invoiced. Values exceeding 110% have been highlighted.
- Commitment Remaining: Revised Contract minus Invoices.
- % Cost to Complete : Percent of the Revised Contract Total remaining to complete the project.
- Date - Start: Project Date - To Commence Work.*
- Date - End: Project Date - Target Completion.*
Note: If either the Date - To Commence Work or Date - Target Completion is missing, the project Date - Requested Start and Date - Requested End are used for the Date - Start and Date - End.
- Totals for all projects . View totals for the Revised Contract amount, Invoices, and Commitment Remaining.
- Alerts . View change orders and invoices awaiting approval for the projects shown in the list by clicking the Alerts button. You can click a change order
- Review a single project . You can review a list of work packages for any of the projects by clicking on the project in the Project Code column.
Project tab
When you click on a project in the My Projects list, the Project tab shows information for each of its work packages. From this tab, the following data is available:

Review Key metrics by work package
. When working in the application, you can click the question mark icon
to see a description of each of these fields.
- Contract Amount: Work Package Contract Amount. Derived from the Amount - Contract field.
- Revised Contract : Contract Cost plus approved change orders.
- Issued Invoices : Issued invoices pending approval.
- Approved Invoices: Approved invoices with status SENT TO FINANCE or CLOSED.
- Invoice Total: Issued and Approved invoice total.
- % Invoiced: Percent of the Revised Contract Cost which has been invoiced. Values exceeding 110% have been highlighted.
- Commitment Remaining: Revised Contract minus Invoices.
- % Cost to Complete: Percent of the Revised Contract Total remaining to complete the project.
- Review Work Package Commitments and Invoices . Select individual Work Packages to view details.
- Totals for all work packages . View totals for each of these key metrics at the bottom of the screen.
- Project Profile - Update Project Status . Click the Project Profile button to view the Project Profile, and change the date the work commences, the target completion date, or the project status.
- Review a single work package . View the Work Package Profile and Contract tab by clicking on a work package in the Work Package column.
- See which work packages are paid . Completed work packages are shown with a green check mark to indicate that they have 0 commitment remaining.
Work Package Profile and Contract tab
You access the Work Package and Contract tab by clicking on a work package in the Project tab. From this tab, you can:
- Review the work package details, and change the date work commences, the targeted completion date, and the work package status by clicking the Details button, and working from the Work Package Profile form.
- Mange the work package's change orders by selecting the Change Orders tab.
- Manage the work order's invoices by selecting the Invoices tab.
- Manage the work packages actions and projections by clicking the Actions and Projections tab.
Change Orders tab
You access the Change Orders tab by selecting a work package on the Work Package Profile and Contract tab, and then selecting the Change Orders tab for that work package. From the Change Orders tab, you can:
- Review all change orders for the selected work package, including totals for the Baseline Costs and Duration for all the work packages change orders.
- If a change order has the status Requested, you are able to edit and approve it. Click the pencil icon to access the Add or Edit Change Order form.
- Add new change orders.
Invoices tab
You access the Invoices tab by selecting a work package on the Work Package Profile and Contract tab, and then selecting the Invoices tab for that work package. From the Invoices tab, you can:
- Review all invoices for the selected work package, including the total amount invoiced.
- Edit, approve, or reject invoices that are issued but not yet sent to finance.
- Add a new invoice,
Actions and Projection tab
If you do not already have projections, the system generates them for you when you access this tab. Projections enable you to get monthly costs that have been updated based on approved change orders. See Generating Project Forecasts.
Accessing the tab:
You access the Actions and Projection tab by selecting a work package on the Work Package Profile and Contract tab, and then selecting the Actions and Projections tab for that work package.
Working from this tab
From the Actions and Projections tab, you can:
- Review the actions and projections made for the selected work package.
- View totals for the actual spend, forecasts, and variance for this work.
- Update a single action, or bulk update multiple actions at once.
- Add a new projection
- Review past monthly projections and the total projections and compare them to the actual spend.
- Export or Import the actions to MS Project.
- Export the actions to Word or Excel.
- Select to show more fields for the action by selecting More Options>Show More Fields.
