Using the Filter Console to Locate Events
Note: You can generate events for both contract terms and compliance program requirements . The information in this topic applies to events for both contract terms and requirements.
Because requirements and contract terms typically have numerous events, to facilitate locating and working with them, the Filter console in tasks for managing events includes a Main filter and a Date Filter that you can toggle between. The restriction uses the criteria you enter in both filters, enabling you to use multiple criteria to target specific events. See Main Filter and Date Filter Consoles .
After applying a filter, you might want to hide the filter so you have more space to examine the records. To hide the Filter console, click the dotted section of the splitter. See Working with a View's Panels.
Note the following when using the Filter consoles for events:
- The restriction is applied to both the drill-down list and the grid : To facilitate locating events, the tasks for managing events include a dill-down list of regulations, programs, and requirements. When you select a requirement, the grid shows the events for that requirement. When you enter a restriction and click Show, the restriction is applied to the drill-down list and to the records showing in the grid. For example, if you enter a location in the Filter, the drill-down list shows only regulations, programs, and requirements that have events that are associated with that location, and the grid shows only events for that location.
- Compliance Level . When you enter the Compliance Level in the Filter, the restriction shows requirements having this compliance level entered for them. The match is done on the program's compliance level if the requirement’s compliance level is empty.
- Vendor Code, Responsible Person , or Regulatory Contact . When you enter these values, the application includes only events that have this vendor, responsible person, or regulatory contact associated with them. The restriction does not include requirements having this person associated with them.
- Location, Equipment, and Employee fields : When you enter these fields the filter restricts to show events that have the location associated with them.
- Event Title : The application shows events that have the entry you make anywhere in the Event Title.
-
Priority
. Priority is a drop-down list with the selections: High, Medium, Low. These priorities match
Requirement Priority
using the following scale:
- High matches priority values from 1-3.
- Medium matches values from 4-6, and
- Low matches values from 7-9.
Main Filter and Date Filter Consoles
Filter | Description |
---|---|
Main | Enables you to restrict the view by a variety of criteria; for example, you can show only events for specific regulations, programs, requirements, or locations. To target your most critical regulations, you can restrict by Regulation Rank , or to target the events that are most at risk for non-compliance, you can restrict by compliance level code. |
Date | Enables you to locate events by entering date ranges using the Date Requirement, Date Start and End, Date Required, Date Actual Start, Date Completed, Date Verified, and Date Closed. |
The restriction uses the selections you make on both filters, so you can set a restriction using both a date and one of the criteria found on the Main Filter.
You toggle between these filters using the Show Main Filter/Show Date Filter buttons.
