Objective

Safety officers need an automated email notification system to alert them when new workplace accidents ( incidents ) are entered into the system. This is particularly important when occasional users enter incidents into the system and provide only the fundamental information; the safety officer needs to investigate the situation and provide additional details.

As the incident is investigated, short-term and long-term solutions are determined, and injuries are monitored, the safety officer and other users may update the system with incident-related information. To keep abreast of the progress of all workplace accidents, the safety officer needs to be notified when incidents are reported, as well as when they are updated by other users.

Solution

With the Health & Safety notification system, safety officers can receive an email message when incidents are:

• entered into the system
• updated by other users
• deleted

This type of email notification ensures that safety officers know about the progress of incidents for which they are responsible and can monitor the incidents as they are resolved.
