Archibus Drawing Publishing Rules Table

Use the Archibus Drawing Publishing Rules table to edit the default drawing publishing rules that are provided with Archibus.

You can access this table from the Smart Client at: System / CAD and BIM Manager / Edit Drawing Publishing Rules

From Web Central, you edit rules for publishing to SVG format. SVG enterprise graphics are used on mobile devices. You can access this task at: System / Mobile Apps Manager / Edit SVG Drawing Publishing Rules .

Note: The following table lists the fields from the Archibus Drawing Publishing Rules table that the Archibus Smart Client Extensions for AutoCAD supports. The other fields in the table are were used with the Client/Server Extension for AutoCAD (discontinued beginning with V.25.1), and are not used by the Smart Client.

  • Enter a named view that the application restores before publishing. A named view consists of a specific magnification, position, and orientation that you save for the drawing using the Auto CAD View command. For example, if you have drawings for the east and west areas of your campus, you could create a named view for each of these areas
  • If you enter an Auto CAD Drawing View value, but the current drawing does not have a corresponding view with the same name, then the application uses the extents option to publish the drawings.
  • Field Purpose
Rule Code Enter a unique identifier for the rule without any spaces. This is the primary key. For example, AbPubBackground publishes the architectural background for enterprise graphics .
Title A description of the rule that helps identify it. For example, "Publish equipment information for enterprise graphics " would be an appropriate tile for the rule that publishes equipment.
    Active?

Select No to deactivate the rule so that it is not used when publishing enterprise graphics. For example, the Smart Client ships with different rules for SVG publishing -- some with equipment, some without, some with regulatory compliance items, some without. Since SVG rules include all assets in every DWG in the same SVG output file, if you do not want to publish the assets specified in a particular rule, you can deactivate the rule by selecting No.

The other selections are in the list for backwards compatibility with the Client/Server Extension. Selecting any selection other than 'No' will essentially activate the rule.

    Type

You can make the following selections to indicate the type of file to which this rule publishes:

    • SVG: This rule publishes to SVG format only. For use in mobile and newer Web Central views, such as Telecom Console.
    • SWF: This rule publishes to SWF format only. For use in most Web Central views.
    • EMF: This rule publishes to EMF format only.
    • SWF and EMF: This rule published to both SWF and EMF formats.
    • JSON: This rule publishes to JSON format only.

Note : The only selections that are currently supported for the Type field are SWF, EMF, JSON, SWF and EMF, and SVG. All other selections are shown in the Type list for backwards compatibility with the Client/Server product, but they are not supported for use in the Smart Client. Selecting any of these unsupported values essentially deactivates the rule.

Data Transfer Status If you import data into the Archibus Drawing Publishing Rules table, the Data Transfer Status field provides the final data transfer status for each record for the import. You can filter on this Data Transfer Status field to see the records that were newly added, updated, or missing in the transfer.
    Additional Layers

    Use this field to specify:

    • the background layers (for example, walls and doors) that should be published as untagged lines, arcs, shapes, (blocks), paths (polylines)
    • the asset layers that contain assets that should be published

The Extension publishes any layers that are listed as Additional Layers.

Color Mapping Enter a RGB hexadecimal value or a named color value that the application uses for publishing all entities for background graphics. Typically, you would specify black or a dark shade of gray. See Setting a Single Background Color for Publishing Drawings.
