expense cost (Capital Budgeting)

The expense cost is the cost that is incurred for day-to-day disposable expenses. The expense cost is different from the capital cost, which is for the acquisition or improvement of capital assets. The expense cost is part of baseline cost estimates, design cost estimates, and actual costs. In each case, the expense cost is listed together with the capital cost. See capital cost.
