Footprints by Year and Footprints by Year Comparison Reports

Carbon Footprint - Review includes two reports that enable you to quickly visualize the trends for your emissions by location:

Report Description
Footprint by Year This report provides a line graph showing the emissions for each emission scope for a single building or site for a particular footprint scenario for the years you select. This chart enables you to visualize the trends for emissions for a single location and footprint scenario.
Footprint by Year Comparison This report provides a line chart showing the Total Emission or Total Emissions Per Area for multiple buildings or sites for multiple footprint scenarios for the years and emission scopes you select. This report enables you to visualize and compare the trends for multiple locations and footprint scenarios for the years you select. You can also select the emissions scopes you want to examine.

For both reports, you can generate the chart as a DOCX file for sharing off-line.

Both reports include the Footprint by Year Data panel that provides the total emissions and the emissions for each scope for each building, footprint scenario and year. You can export the data in this panel to Excel.

Filtering the Reports

Use the Filter console to select the site or building for which you want to generate the report. The Select Values lists in the Filter console include the sites, buildings, and years for which the application has calculated footprint emissions.

You must select a site or building, and a footprint scenario. You can leave the Calculation Year blank to include all years for which you have data, or select two or more years for which you want to analyze trends.

When selecting from the Filter console be aware that certain selections you make affect the data that is available for subsequent selections. For example, when you select a Calculation Year, the Building and Site fields are restricted to show only the locations that have footprint data calculated for the selected year. This ensures that you make only selections for which data is available.

The Filter console includes the following selections:

Filter Field Description
Site or Building You must select a site or a building. For the Footprint by Year Comparison report, the selection list enables you to select multiple sites or buildings. See Selecting Multiple Values from Select Value Lists.
Scenario Code For the Footprint by Year report, you must select a single footprint scenario. For the Footprint by Year Comparison, you can select multiple scenarios to compare.
Calculation Year Both reports enable you to select multiple years for which you want to analyze trends.
Emission Scope For the Footprint by Year Comparison report, you can select the emission scopes to include in the chart ( Scope 1 , Scope 2 , Scope 3 , and Other Emissions ). The Footprint by Year report always includes all scopes; emission scopes are not included in the filter.

Reviewing the Total Emissions Per Unit Area

For the Footprint by Year Comparison report, you can view the total emissions by unit area by selecting the Total Emissions Per Unit Area tab. Both the chart and Footprint by Year Data panel show the Total Emissions divided by the building's gross area. This enables you to compare emissions adjusted by the building's size.
