Archibus Schema Preferences Table

Use the Archibus Schema Preferences table to specify how you want to establish the schema-specific defaults controlling properties that affect the installation and execution of the program.

Access this table from the Smart Client at: System / Add-In Manager / Edit Schema Preferences

Field

Purpose

Schema Preferences Key

Provides the key identifying the record holding the schema preferences values. You cannot change this value.

Base Units

Area field values are stored in the database in the Base Units you specify.

Select:

  • Metric to have area values stored as m 2 or meters.
  • Imperial to have area values stored as f 2 or feet.
  • Per Locale: This sets the afm_scmpref.units to Imperial or Metric in the database based on the application server locale .
Default Base Metric Units Specify the unit for measuring drawing units when a drawing uses metric units. The value you specify appears by default on the Drawing Properties dialog when you add a new drawing. Base Metric Units can be set to meters, centimeters, or millimeters.
Archibus Database Version Number/Date

Holds the version and date of the database that you currently working with.

Each time a new database is released, a version number and date is assigned to the database. When you install a new version of Archibus, run Database Update Wizard, the system completes this field with the version number of your database. This field is not editable.

Space Hierarchy Field Names

Describes the names of the fields containing the strict hierarchy for locations, such as: BL_ID;FL_ID;RM_ID.

Lease Area Method

Users of the Real Property domain use this field to inform the domain of the type of asset representing leased areas. Choose Suite, Group, Room-Composite, or Room-All Room.

Group Area Prorate Method

If you choose the Group value for the Lease Area Method field above, you must specify how the system should charge back your groups. Choose BOMA, Enhanced BOMA, BOMA 96, or Group. Rather than completing this and the above preference by working with this task, Real Property & Lease domain users can set these by running the Lease domain's Choose Proration and Lease Area Methods action, which presents a condensed version of the Archibus Schema Preferences table. See this topic for complete information on these preferences.

Fiscal Year Start Day/Start Month

Some views and routines, such as the Lease domain's Create Budget routine, analyze data according to fiscal year. Use these preferences to define the start of the fiscal year, such as July 1.

Space Area Method

When updating the Usable Area field of the Floors table with the Allocate action or Recalculate Usable Area view action of the Strategic Master Planning domain, the system consults this preference to determine the exact Update Area calculations to run. Complete this option with the space inventory method you have developed: All Room, Composite, BOMA, etc. For example, when this preference is set to All Room, the allocation actions calculate floor usable area using the same calculations as the Domain Navigator's All Room Inventory/Update Area Totals action.

Use Hierarchical Security?

Select Yes to use hierarchical security .

Hierarchy Delimiter The delimiter used for arbitrary hierarchies.

The table contains additional fields that are used only by Archibus Client/Server (discontinued beginning with V.25.1). By default, the view hides these fields.

Note : Any change to the schema preferences require that you restart the application server in order for the change to take effect.
