Develop Space and Equipment Inventories and Compliance Regulations
As outlined below, use the tasks of the Space SaaS module and Maintenance SaaS module to depict your medical facility and its equipment in the database and on floor plans.
In addition to the topics referenced below, be sure to see Enter Healthcare-Related Fields for Rooms and Other Tables for information on the healthcare-specific fields you will encounter in data development.
Develop your space inventory using the Space SaaS module
-
Develop your floor plans and space inventory using the Space SaaS module. See Develop a Space Inventory .
-
As part of developing the space inventory of your facility, use the Space / Background Data - Space / Define Room Categories and Types task to review the Room Types and Room Categories tables. The Room Categories table already includes the HEALTHCARE record, which has assigned to it set of typical Room Types for healthcare settings. You can enter additional Room Type records to reflect the conventions used at your site. For example, you may want to develop a room type for rooms that store bio-medical waste ready for disposal. Room Types can mirror Healthcare Occupancy Types , but they can be specific to your organization.
See Define Room Categories and Types .
Develop an equipment inventory using the Maintenance module
Develop your equipment using the Define Equipment Standards and Define Equipment tasks of the Maintenance module.
-
In the Equipment Standards table, be sure to complete the Fire Rating field. See Enter Healthcare-Related Fields for Rooms and Other Tables.
-
In addition to your medical equipment, such as MRI machines, enter your licensed beds and fire assets (medical fire doors and fire walls) in the Equipment table. Assign an equipment standard with the appropriate fire rating.
-
If you want to highlight floor plans by fire ratings, represent your medical fire doors and fire walls on the floor plan as equipment asset symbols . See:
-
In the Equipment Standards table, be sure to complete the Acad Highlight Pattern field.
-
Optionally, you can use the Equipment Systems Console task of the Maintenance module to link your fire doors and fire walls as equipment systems so that they represent the complete fire barrier.
Enter Compliance regulations (optional)
Since adherence to industry and governmental regulations is a vital aspect of managing a medical facility, many users integrate the Archibus Compliance module with the Archibus Healthcare package. If you have the Compliance module, you can enter your compliance requirements and then associate compliance locations (a specific building, floor, room, or equipment item) with a compliance requirement .
With rooms and equipment associated with compliance regulations, you can use Healthcare's Facilities Console to perform such tasks as:
-
highlight rooms that are associated with compliance regulations
-
access equipment linked to requirements
-
highlight rooms with compliance-related work requests
-
review your compliance events
