Healthcare Equipment Examples
With your healthcare equipment entered in the database and represented on the floor plan, you can make queries such as the following.
Locate Equipment on the Floor Plan
Facility managers need to quickly locate equipment. For example, during construction facility managers might need to locate the oxygen shut off valves on a particular floor.
-
In the Facilities Console, load the desired floor plan.
-
Load the Equipment tab.
-
User the smart search console to search for the Equipment Standard for oxygen shut off valves.
-
The Equipment grid displays the oxygen shut off valve equipment.
-
Click on an equipment item and the floor plan highlights the room in which it is located.
Licensed Beds
Licensed beds are stored as equipment items in the Equipment table.
Run the Licensed Beds highlight to see the number of licensed beds in each room. You could then add the Fire Protection border highlight to ensure that all rooms housing licensed beds have the proper sprinklers.
Fire Assets
Fire assets, such as fire doors and fire walls, are stored in the Equipment table. Tracking these assets and keeping them in good working order is an important part of life and safety planning.
Preparation:
-
Complete the Fire Rating (Hours) field and specify a highlight (Acad Highlight Pattern field) for your Equipment Standard records.
-
Depict your fire doors and fire walls as equipment asset symbols on the floor plan.
-
Assign your fire doors and fire walls an Equipment Standard that has a Fire Rating (Hours) value.
Procedure
-
In the Facilities Console, use the filter to load the desired floor plan.
-
Move to the Equipment tab and use the Smart Search console to enter "MED-FIRE" for the Equipment Standard field. This produces a list of your fire walls and fire doors; in the sample project, this is equipment with an Equipment Standard of MED-FIRE-DOOR and MED-FIRE-WALL). For a list of all fire-related equipment,
-
Locate a fire asset in the floor plan by clicking on its record in the grid. The floor plan highlights the room holding this item.
-
In the floor plan, highlight by Fire Rating. This highlights asset symbols in the floor plan by the Fire Rating field of the assigned Equipment Standard, such as by 1-hour, 2-hour, and so on.
Note : Currently, the floor plan cannot highlight very narrow asset symbols such as fire walls. Thus, when you run the Highlight by Fire Rating highlight, the floor plan highlights only larger asset symbols, such as fire doors. A related issue is that a border highlight by Fire Rating does not highlight using the correct highlight colors. These issues will be fixed in a future release.
-
Display the legend so that you know the number of hours each color represents.
Hint
: If you want to check a fire asset's fire rating without highlighting the floor plan, hover over the fire asset symbol in the floor plan. In the sample HQ project, fire door and fire wall standards include the hour rating as part of their standard name. Therefore, when you hover over a fire door asset symbol and the flyout text displays the Equipment Code and Equipment Standard, you can determine the fire rating by viewing the Equipment Standard value.
