Completing Room Data Using the Smart Client Grid

If you are doing a large number of edits, you will want to use the spreadsheet-style grid in the Archibus Smart Client to make your changes so that you can make them in bulk.

  1. Sign In .
    • Start the Smart Client using the Start Menu / All Programs / Archibus / Archibus Smart Client selection.
    • Sign in to Archibus (for example, log into the sample HQ project at http://localhost:8080/archibus/ as user AI or AFM as credentials).
  2. Load Archibus Rooms View .
    • Load the Archibus Rooms view by using the Navigator to access S pace Planning & Management / Space Inventory & Performance / Room Inventory / Draw Rooms .

    • This view presents data from all models and CAD drawings associated with this Archibus database, so that you can enter data across your whole portfolio and keep it consistent.

  3. Edit Data .
    • Edit the data for the Room Standard, Category, Type, Division, and Department much as you would edit in a spreadsheet. You can cut-and-paste values or use the drop-down pick lists to enter values consistently.
    • This is useful if you have a model-driven value (for example, Department values entered by the architect) that you want to convert into your facility management value (for example, the Department Code you use campus-wide) in one step.

    • You can also restrict the grid to just the rows you want using the Row-filter, then use the Replace Column command to update all those records in one step.
