Healthcare / Healthcare Facility Manager / Facilities Console

Example Healthcare Room Queries

With your healthcare rooms entered in the database and represented on the floor plan, you can use the Facilities Console to make queries such as the following.

Locate a room on the floor plan

From the Rooms tab, click on a Room Code. The floor plan highlights this room so that you know its location.

Review wings or other floor divisions

If you have developed floor locations to represent section of a floor (such as a wing or an annex) and assigned these sections to rooms, you can see these designations on the floor plan by running the Floor Locations query. You might then add a border highlight to display zones so that you have a clear picture of how your medical floor is organized.

Examine ligature risk for ambulatory and healthcare rooms

Rooms housing patients have ligature requirements -- the level of supervision that patients require in order to avoid ligature risk (self-harm from hanging or strangulation). As a facilities manager, you might want to run a query to see that all ambulatory and healthcare rooms have at least some level of ligature risk.

Procedure:

  1. Complete the Ligature Risk Types and Healthcare Occupancy Types tables with your categories, and assigned highlights to these categories.

  2. Complete the Occupancy Type and Ligature Risk Type fields for each room .

  3. In the Facilities Console, load the floor plan and set a solid highlight of Occupancy Type and a border highlight of Ligature Risk Type.

  4. Review the floor plan. Do any solid red rooms (ambulatory) and all light blue rooms (health care) have a magenta border highlight indicating that these rooms have no ligature risk?

  5. For such rooms, click on the room, choose View/Edit Selected Room, review the rooms details and change the Ligature Risk Type as necessary.
