Write Step
Write Step
After the translated files are imported into the glossary this step will write the strings back to the translatable tables, and also write the lang, and .js files for Web Central.
Write Strings out of Glossary
Execute this step once for every language to write the newly imported strings into the localization tables and to write the translated glossary strings back to the lang_files, lang_strings, and lang_enum localization tables, ensuring that you only write them back for those records that do not yet have translated values:
-
From the Language list, select the target language. See Edit the Languages Table .
-
Select Include only strings requiring translation.
-
Click the Write String out of Glossary button.
-
When the writing is completed, the Tables affected by write section shows the number of records written.
Write Tables
This step needs to be executed once for every language to write any new translated strings into the corresponding tables in the system.
The user has the option to only update records in the glossary that do not have translations.
Extract Translation Tables
Export the translation data for the key tables in the Archibus database to Excel. A sample folder showing all the files can be found at:
projects\users\public\dt\v2023.03.002\translation\singlebyte
projects\users\public\dt\v2023.03.002\translation\doublebyte
projects\users\public\dt\v2023.03.002\translation\alllang
The export files need to include only the table key fields and the translation fields in all the respective languages. The
singlebytefolder
includes the table translations for German, French, Dutch, Italian and Spanish. The
doublebyte
folder includes the table translations for Chinese (Simplified) and Japanese and the
alllang
folder includes the table translations for all languages.
Update Script Files with Translations
Update the translation script files to import the translation data for the key tables. The files can be found in the following folder:
projects\users\public\dt\v2023.03.002\translation
Write Files
This step needs to be executed once for every language to write any new translated strings into the corresponding files in the Web Central system.
The user has the option to delete and create new language files or to add any new application strings to the existing files.
Web Central Language Files
The Write Files task will create or update the language files in the following folders:
System Language Files
schema\ab-system\lang
JavaScript Language Files
schema\ab-core\controls\lang
Mobile JavaScript Language Files
schema\ab-products\common\mobile\src\Common\resources\language
The updated language files need to be merged with the latest Web Central development environment.
Smart Client Language Files
The Write Files task will also update the Smart Client application localization resource files (.resx) in the following Web Central folder assuming the user running the localization kit is user ai :
archibus\projects\users\ai\localize
The localize folder contains an image of the Smart Client application development repository that is setup independently of Web Central.
