Grip Editing
You can edit most items inside of AutoCAD by using a technique called grip editing —working with drawing objects by using their grip handles, which are small squares that appear on the vertexes of drawing objects you select.
Selecting a drawing item sets it to grip-edit mode so that you can work with it.
To activate grip-edit mode
-
Select the item. Grip handles appear.
To cancel grip-edit mode once you have made your edit
-
Press the Esc key.
To cancel grip-edit mode and not save your changes
- From the AutoCAD Standard toolbar menu, click the Undo list arrow.
- Click Grip edit from the list.
To resize lines
- Select the line that you want to resize. Grip handles appear on each end.
- Drag the grip handles to resize the line, and click.
- Press ESC to cancel grip-edit mode.
