Filtering Charts

You can filter the data included in key performance indicator (KPI) charts so that you see the data relevant to your analysis. The Filter button is available when the chart view is maximized. See Maximizing and Filtering Key Performance Indicator Charts.

The following describes all filters. Not all filters are relevant for all chart types. Based on the KPI chart type, some of the filtering options do not appear. The following descriptions indicate the chart types for which the filter is available. Using the Filter button, you can filter KPI charts by:

Geography: These filters include country, region, state, city, and site. For charts grouped by buildings, you can also filter by property. You select a property if you want to restrict the view to a single property that the building is associated with. For structures or land, you enter the Property Code, the unique identifier entered for the property or land to generate a chart for that single portfolio item. The Geography restriction is available for all chart types.

Ownership : You can select to view only currently owned or only currently leased buildings, land, or structures, or to have the chart be unrestricted and show currently owned and currently leased, expired, and disposed portfolio items. The chart shows the buildings, structures, and land having the selected ownership during the time span you select for the chart. The Ownership restriction is not available for the Net Capital Transaction, Book & Market Value, Portfolio Investments, and Portfolio Sales charts, as these charts are relevant to only owned portfolio items.

Lease : For buildings, structures, or land that have leases associated with them, you can restrict the view to only those portfolio items for which you are the tenant, or only those for which you are the landlord. The Lease restriction is not available for the Net Capital Transaction, Book & Market Value, Portfolio Investments, and Portfolio Sales charts, as these charts are relevant to only owned portfolio items.

Time Span : Filtering by time span enables you to analyze past trends, examine current use, and to make future projections based on lease expirations or transactions that are in the pipeline. For the Area by.. Location, Area Availability by..., Monthly Capital Transaction, Portfolio Investment, and Portfolio Sales charts, you can select the time frame for the data. If you select a time span in the past, the end date for the chart is the current date. The start date is determined by your selection. For example, the start date is three years before the current date, when you select Past 3 Years as the filter. If you select a time span in the future, the starting date is today and the end date is determined by your selection.

You can select from the following filters:

  • Past 5 Years
  • Past 3 Years
  • Past Year
  • Next Year
  • Next 3 Years
  • Next 5 Years
