To set up a VPA restriction that restricts a user’s access to information based on the buildings to which they have access (as defined for them in the Archibus Users table):
- Access the Archibus Users table. This example looks at user Z-VPA1 which has an HQ VPA Building Code restriction
- Enter one of the following Building Code values for the user in the VPA Building Code List field:
Enter |
To grant access to: |
HQ |
Building HQ data |
HQ% |
All buildings that are prefixed with HQ |
HQ, JFK |
Building HQ or JFK data |
NULL,HQ |
All records that have no Building Code or that are in building HQ. |
NULL,HQ%,JFK,1204 |
Blank records, records LIKE HQ% or in JFK or in 1204 |
- Log on as the user with the VPA restriction and that user will see only data for the appropriate building. For this example, user Z-VPA1 accesses only information for the HQ building.
- See more examples of VPA restrictions by examining the users prefixed with Z-VPA in the HQ sample project.
