Archibus Web Central

Best Practices for Working with the Navigator

Monitor Resolution and Zoom Percentage Setting

For optimal viewing you should set your monitor resolution to 1280 x 1024. This setting minimizes the need for horizontal scrolling, and is especially important when using dashboard views .

Setting your web browser's zoom setting to higher than 100% (even increasing the zoom slightly to 125%) can prevent some Archibus panels from displaying correctly. Also note that some browsers have a default zoom setting that is above 100%. In these cases, you will want to change the zoom back to 100%

In some cases, setting a zoom to lower than 100% can improve a view's appearance

Check your browser's documentation for information on setting the zoom percentage.

Refreshing Data and Navigating between Pages

The Archibus Web Central user interface uses many of the conventions, buttons, and navigation tools of your Web browser. For example, the Back, Forward, and Stop buttons will function as they do for regular Web pages. However, Archibus Web Central accesses data that is dynamic and constantly changing in response to your input. While you cannot create errors in the commands or data by using the Back and Forward buttons, you may get messages stating that the page you requested is out of date or unavailable. In these cases, select Retry to complete the refresh.

To avoid these messages, you should use the Navigator and the Archibus Web Central buttons whenever possible.
