Review and update notification templates

Using the Manage Notification Templates for Metrics task, you can review notification templates and their assignments.

For example:

• Verify if a metric has a notification assigned by entering the Metric Name in the Filter Console. The grid shows any template assigned to that metric.
• Verify if a manager is receiving any notifications by entering the email address in the Recipient Email Address field in the Filter.
• To work with notifications for a specific Category, select the Notification Category from that list in the filter, and click Show. For example, if you have defined categories by application or urgency, you could select those from the list to work with only these categories.

Updating a template

From the Select Notification Template tab, click Select in the row for the template you want to review or update.

This brings you to the Define Notification Templates tab from which you can review detailed information for the metric, and update it as needed. See Define Notifications Templates for a description of the information you can enter.

Reviewing metric assignments and unassigning metrics

After selecting a notification template on the Select Notification Template tab, you can access the Assigned Metrics tab that lists all the metrics assigned to this template. You can review this list, and unassign a metric by clicking Unassign in the row for the metric. This action deletes the association record between the metric and the selected notification template. The association table is afm_metric_notify.
