allocation

Within a portfolio scenario , an allocation is a lease's or organizational unit's proposed assignment to a floor. The organizational unit can be a business unit, division, department, or functional group . An allocation does not assign the organizational unit or lease to a specific set of rooms, but specifies the floor on which it will reside. For example, a division might be allocated to a floor HQ-18, but it is not allocated to specific rooms on this floor.

In stack plans , each element or colored block in a floor's stack bar is an allocation.

You can create allocations a few ways:

  • use the stack plan's Add and Split commands to create allocations and specify their properties
  • have the system generate allocations from the existing inventory that you add to the portfolio scenario
  • have the system generate allocations from space requirements that you add to the portfolio scenario

Allocations are stored in the Groups table where they have a value for the Portfolio Scenario ID field.
