Establishing a Privacy Policy

Some jurisdictions have restrictions on stored personal information such as social security number, home phone number, home address, home zip code and IP address. None of these pieces of information are required to work with Archibus, nor are any of them collected by the Web forms, by the mobile interfaces, or by any automated routines inside the factory-ship version of Archibus.

Deployments that manage telecommunications may opt to store IP addresses. Deployments that implement emergency preparedness may opt to record home phone number, address, and zip code of employees and contractors. These deployments may wish to review the laws concerning storage and use of personal information and may wish to consider posting a privacy policy for employees and contractors that states how the organization is using the information. All deployments should review their organization’s internal data security and privacy rules, which are often stricter than the legal requirements.
