Entering Data for Outsourced Activities

Use the Outsourced Activities tab to enter data for photocopying that you outsource to others.

The application assesses a minuscule amount of emissions output per photocopied page using the kWh/page amount that is stored in an application parameter, Average copy rate kWh/page (avg_copy_rate). This enables you to easily adjust this value if you use a different standard, or if the standard value changes. The Energy Grid subregion’s conversion values take the total electric energy used from copies and converts this to CO 2 equivalent.

To enter data for outsourced activities:

  1. Select Carbon Footprint - Track / Enter Building Footprint Data .
  2. From the Building Footprints panel, select the building and calculation year for which you are entering consumption data.
  3. Select the Indirect Emissions (Scope 3) tab.
  4. Select the Outsourced Activity tab.
  5. In the Leased Assets, Franchises and Outsourced Activities panel, click Add New.
  6. In the Leased Assets, Franchises and Outsourced Activities Source panel, enter the following required information:

    Description: Enter a description of the photocopying job.

    Number of Copies

  1. Click Save.

    The application calculates greenhouse gas emissions for this source, and displays the emissions in the upper Footprints panel.
