Glossary Term

A classification for service requests that controls the features of the request such as:

  • does it support documents?
  • does it present questions?
  • does it hide equipment and location fields?
  • what security group can see this request type?

Request types can be defined for services such as copying, moves, office supplies, and maintenance.

Requests of the SERVICE DESK-MAINTENANCE request type are automatically routed to the maintenance department. The SERVICE DESK-MAINTENANCE request type covers preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and hazardous material management.
