Administering Document Management for Drawings
The Archibus Document Management for Drawings features :
- store and manage all drawings in a central location (the Web Central Drawing Files folder ).
- enable CAD specialists check out drawings from the Web Central Drawing Files folder to work on them using their local copy of AutoCAD, and check in drawings to the Web Central Drawing Files folder. The system delivers drawing files to and from local machines using Web Services.
- help CAD specialists to keep the drawings synchronized with those in the Web Central Drawing Files folder.
Note: The topics in this section refer to configuring and enabling the feature for managing CAD drawings. For information on managing the versions of a document that are associated with a database record, see Document Management Overview .
Note : Document Management for Drawings is not available for Archibus SaaS.
As an Archibus Administrator, you may need to:
- Add your site's drawings to the central location (the Web Central Drawing Files folder) for the first time. This task may also be done by a CAD Manager and is documented in Archibus User Help at this location on the Contents pane:
