Creating Management Home Pages for Tablets

You can use Archibus Home Pages for getting executive reports -- such as metrics, alerts, and summary management reports -- on your tablet, such as an iPad. The management home pages are not designed for use on smart phones.

You can create your own home pages for your mobile executives. Define a descriptor like a typical home page, and enter that descriptor's name in the Dashboard View of a process:

The home page that has the lowest Display Order value will be the default home page that loads when the user signs in.

When creating management home pages for tablets, there are only certain elements you can use.

Columns

You must use a four-column layout.

Panels

You can use:

  • Horizontal bar chart panels
  • A metrics scorecard panel (one per page)
  • Metric values chart panels
  • Metric alerts scorecard panels
  • Process panels.

Process Panel Content

When creating reports for process panels on home pages for tablets you must use specific report types. One of the easiest ways to define reports of the proper type is to use the View Definition Wizard ( System / Add-In Manager / Run View Definition Wizard or http://localhost:8080/archibus/ab-viewdef-wizard.axvw ).

You can use

  • An interactive report (as described on the Select Type tab of the View Definition Wizard) with or without drill-downs
  • A interactive summary report or a drill-down to a summary report (as described on the Select Pattern tab of the View Definition Wizard for the interactive report type)

You cannot use other types of Archibus views, including reports with charts or edit forms. You can use the "TXFR" (Data Transfer) action on reports, but not the DOC (Export to Word) or XLS (Export to Excel) actions. Prefer data fields (e.g. fields from the lease abstract) over document fields (e.g. a link to the lease contract), as documents take extra steps to download and to access for display.

Drill down views from the metrics that appear on mobile tablets must be of the type of report listed above.
