Adding a New Family Mapping
Archibus Smart Client Extension for Revit
Adding a New Family Mapping
You can add a new Revit family mapping to map a particular family and type of element to an Archibus asset table.
To do so, you must create a family mapping. Create a new entry in the Archibus BIM Families Table (afm_bim_families) . The entry maps a particular family, type – and, if necessary, View name and phase – to an Archibus Asset Table.
Use an Archibus Asset Table that is already used elsewhere in this Archibus BIM Families table. In doing so, you re-use the existing Archibus BIM Parameter mappings for that Asset Table.
To add a new asset type, you first create a family mapping, and then create the parameter mappings. See Adding a New Asset Type.
Localization Considerations
Localized Family and Type Names . If you create a Revit model in French, for instance, the Family and Type names will be in French. If you create a Revit model in English, these values will be in English. To handle this situation, create a mapping entry for each language.
