Connecting Archibus to Your Database: Other Considerations

When you connect Archibus to your database, keep these considerations in mind.

Oracle Log-in

When you log into an Oracle database, note the username and password are case-sensitive.

Application Level Security

If you rely primarily on SQL-level security for your project, review the application level security available. Archibus application level security is powerful. If you do not use application level security for other purposes, consider it to secure the Archibus Users table. The Review Group and Edit Group permissions on each field of the Archibus Users table controls which users can see and alter user information. This feature is key for the My Profile task in Archibus Web Central, where you want to grant users permission to alter only certain values in their own account.

Practical restriction: remove these permissions from the Guest account, or remove or disable the Guest account altogether.
