designator_def
designator
A type of block that is scaled so that it always appears at the same size on the printed output regardless of the scale factor of the drawing. Designators are intended to be clearly visible symbolic markers, rather than true-scale items. Designators are useful for representing items that would not be visible if they were scaled to their appropriate dimensions, such as electrical outlets or call-outs showing employee information. System Managers define that an asset type uses designator blocks by setting the Scaled Insertion? field of the A/FM Asset Types table to Yes. See also block , asset symbol .
