Archibus Web Central

Signing Out

You can sign out of Archibus Web Central by selecting the Log Out command from the User menu. For security reasons, you should always close your browser after you sign out of Archibus Web Central.

Automatic Sign-out (timed out)

For security reasons, the program signs you out automatically if your session is inactive for 30 minutes. (Your system administrator might have changed the timeout period to a larger or smaller value.)

Similarly, if you use the File/Close command or press the "X" button, the program will wait for the timeout period, and then will log you out.

Note : To set the timeout period, system administrators edit the "session-timeout" parameter in the \WEB-INF\web.xml deployment descriptor file.

Licenses

When you are logged out, either because you clicked the Sign Out button or because the timeout period has passed, the program frees any Archibus licenses that you had signed out when you signed in. These licenses are now available for other users.

If you find license use is high because users are leaving inactive sessions open (e.g. they are leaving the session open and going to lunch), ask your system administrator to shorten the timeout period so these licenses are more quickly available.

Note: To access information about your license and determine the current version of Archibus Web Central, run the System / System Administrator / View Program Information and License Usage task.
