Link to Apps in Hummingbird - 2019 February

Planning a business trip to an unfamiliar city or facility can be a daunting task. Where is your meeting and how do you get there? What are you going to do for lunch? These questions should not be the primary focus of your trip, but they often take an outsized role as you plan your day. To help you avoid these time-wasting distractions, iOFFICE is making a variety of apps and services accessible directly in the Hummingbird app, allowing you to quickly access maps, book rides, and even order food from a central location.

To access a service when viewing an upcoming reservation, tap the corresponding button in the new Apps section. Suppose you have a meeting scheduled in a new facility and want to see how long it will take to drive from your hotel. Simply access your reservation, tap the Maps button in the Apps section, and select your preferred mapping app (Apple Maps or Google Maps) from the displayed submenu. If the selected app is installed on your device, the app displays with the building location automatically entered, allowing you to easily navigate to the building using the corresponding service.

Note: The Apple Maps option is not available on Android devices. For all other options, the browser version of the option displays if the app is not available, allowing you to either use the browser to complete your task or download the app to your device.

The following buttons are available in the new Apps section.

  • Maps. Need help finding a building? You can access options for Apple Maps and Google Maps by tapping the Maps button, allowing you to quickly navigate using the app of your choice.

  • Rides. Need to catch a ride to your meeting? If you have Lyft or Uber apps on your device, you can link directly to either service using the Rides button, eliminating the need to enter your destination address manually in one of these apps.

  • Food. Finding great food can be difficult when you're not familiar with the area. Use the Food button to access DoorDash, GrubHub, or OpenTable to help you eat well whether you're on the road or just looking for a new option near your regular office.

We understand that the last thing you want to focus on during a business trip is logistics, and we hope that these new options can help you navigate your day more efficiently. If you have any questions,  please call 713-526-1029 or send an email to support@iofficecorp.com.
