Create a Neighborhood that spans Floors and Buildings

Level: Administrator

In this example, the neighborhood spans multiple floors or buildings. We will create a neighborhood for 500 Main Street, Houston for floors 01 and 02, and for Liberty Plaza's Floor 03.

Step 1. Create the Neighborhood in Floor 01 in the Houston Building

 You can select the spaces to be included in the neighborhood.

  1. Change Mode icon at the upper right-hand corner to the Admin Mode clipboard_e354758d4473d35898afa3e4f2093b7ce.png.
  2. Navigate to the building and floor.
  3. Navigate to the floor plan.
  4. Zoom into the area where you want to create the neighborhood.
  5. Click the Mode icon and select Admin mode.
  6. Click the Neighborhood tab.
  7. Click the Create Neighborhood button. The New Neighborhood displays in the panel.
  8. In the Unique Code field, enter an unique code to identify the neighborhood.
  9. In the Neighborhood Name field, enter the name of the neighborhood. For example, West Neighborhood.
  10. In the Brief Description field, enter a short description.
  11. In the Primary Contact field, enter the employee who is the primary contact for the neighborhood.
  12. From the Start Date and End Date calendar picker, select the start and end date.
  13. In the Target Seating ratio field, either leave blank for enter an employee-to-seat ratio.
  14. In the Target Meeting ratio field, enter leave blank for enter an employee-to-meeting ratio.
  15. If there is an owning team or organization, then click the Add Owner(s) button and then select the Organization Hierarchy category.
  16. If you want to change the neighborhood border color or fill color, then complete the HEX code and select the weight and opacity.
  17. Click the Save button.

The neighborhood is saved. Now you can create the neighborhood section(s).

Step 2. Create the Sales Section and the Marketing Section

  1. From the panel, click the More button to display the pop-up menu.
  2. Click the Create Section option.
  3. In the Section Name field, enter the Section Name. As you want your employees to be able to identify the neighborhood section, give it a meaningful name.
  4. Either use the Draw to Select to define the neighborhood section.

In this example, the Marketing Section Floor 01 Houston was created.

Then, the Sales Section Floor 01 Houston was created.

Step 3. Add Neighborhood Sections to Floor 03 in the Houston Building

  1. In the Admin panel, navigate to Floor 02.

  1. In the panel, select the neighborhood.
  2. Click the More drop-down, select Create Section.
  3. In the Section Name field, enter the Section Name. As you want your employees to be able to identify the neighborhood section, give it a meaningful name.
  4. Either use the Draw to Select to define the neighborhood section.

In this example, the Marketing Section Floor 02 Houston was created.

Step 4. Add Neighborhood Sections to Floor 02 in the Liberty Plaza Building

  1. In the Admin panel, navigate to the building and floor. For example, Liberty Plaza and Floor 02.

  1. In the panel, select the neighborhood.
  2. Click the More drop-down, select Create Section.
  3. In the Section Name field, enter the Section Name. As you want your employees to be able to identify the neighborhood section, give it a meaningful name.
  4. Either use the Draw to Select to define the neighborhood section.

In this example, the Marketing Section Floor 03 Liberty Plaza was created.

  1. In the panel, click the neighborhood and you will see all the sections for the neighborhood. If a neighborhood section is not on the current floor, it displays the label Elsewhere. If you click on that neighborhood section, it will take you to the building and floor where it is found.

Step 5. Add Member(s) to the Neighborhood

You can add people (users) to be members of the neighborhood, and this is where you need to make sure the user is set to be Hybrid. This can be completed in Assign Hybrid User to a Neighborhood.

Step 6. Set up the Reservation Rules

If you want the employees in the neighborhood to reserve the spaces, then you can set up a reservation rule.

For example, below, you can see the rule is for the Sales and Marketing Neighborhood and includes all members.  Therefore, any employee who is a member of the neighborhood can reserve a space.
