Authorization of the Workplace Calendar Service V3

Customer IT

Early Access Migration

This will ensure the connectivity with Exchange in anticipation of Microsoft's deprecation of impersonation roles in February 2025. Learn more in Application Impersonation RBAC Role Deprecation in Exchange Online | Microsoft.

Below are the steps for your Office365/Exchange Administrator to complete to pre-authorize the Eptura Workplace Calendar Service V3 prior to migration.

Completion of this pre-authorization will not disrupt the operation of your existing V1 or V2 calendar integration.

Important Notes

  • You must complete this authorization 2-3 days ahead of the scheduled migration.
  • If a new service account is created, it can take up to 2 hours for the changes to propagate.
  • To authenticate more than one tenant you will need a service account per tenant.  Follow the instructions outlined below for each tenant.

Steps

Your Office365/Exchange Administrator will complete these steps.

Step 1. Authorize the Calendar Service

  1. In the Workplace application, navigate to Admin > Authorize V3 Calendar Service.
  2. In Tenant ID field, enter the customer’s O365 tenant ID.
  3. Click Authorize V3 Calendar Service button and after a brief pause, you will be redirected to a Microsoft hosted URL that will initiate the approval process.

At the time of writing the “Eptura Workplace Calendar Service” is being verified by Microsoft.

You will then be returned to the Admin > Authorize V3 Calendar Service page.  You will see that the authorization of the Workplace Calendar Service has been successfully completed with an ‘Account Verified' indicator.
