The iOFFICE Hummingbird mobile app has been updated to support more advanced authentication methods by utilizing the Web Authentication API. iOFFICE administrators will be able to use their company’s authentication protocols, such as biometric verification, in order to increase security for employees using the Hummingbird app.
Users will not see a significant change to their log-in flow when signing into Hummingbird. With this change, Hummingbird will automatically launch the user’s default mobile web browser (such as Safari, Chrome, or Firefox) to enter their sign-on credentials. They will then need to authenticate according to their company’s policies. Once they demonstrate they are an authorized Hummingbird user, they will automatically be rerouted back to Hummingbird and can continue using the app as usual.
This update will be available to all Hummingbird customers and no additional action is required to gain access. Users already signed into Hummingbird will not be signed out when this update is released.
