Inventory Transfer Types

Inventory transfers are a crucial aspect of managing your stock across multiple locations or warehouses. There are two kinds of transfers that can be completed:

  • Local Inventory Transfer
  • Remote Inventory Transfer

Local Inventory Transfer

These allow you to move inventory between the different warehouses located at the same site.

Remote Inventory Transfer

Remote transfers are used to send parts between warehouses located at different sites. Similar to a supermarket, the central warehouse is where the suppliers deliver to and then the items are transferred to the different stores.

Parts Cost

When parts are transferred, the cost of the part is transferred with it. This means that the source warehouse will no longer pay for the cost of the part as it is now the receiving warehouse's responsibility.
