Change the Part to a Component

Components can track a part's warranty, and requires you to register the component's serial number each time you purchase or order the part. You can change a part to become a component. 

  1. From the menu, click Inventory.
  2. Click the part and the Part Details screen displays.
  3. Click the View Part Details Screenshot 2022-12-29 at 10.19.27 AM.png icon.
  4. Check the Serialized check box.  
  5. Refresh the screen and you will see the View Components Screenshot 2022-12-29 at 10.41.38 AM.png icon in the Part Details form.

The Warranty information can be added to an active component.

  1. Click the Component - Warranty Rules  clipboard_e16f3c52ae752866a32f0c3adba84c42a.png tab.

Date Based

  1. From the Date Based drop-down, selected either: Years, Months, or Days.
  2. In the Number field, enter the number.

Meter Based

  1. From the Meter Based drop-down, select the measurement.
  2. In the Number field, enter the number.

Warranty Note

  1. In the Warranty Note field, enter the warranty information.
